Unity Housing Receives Talent Led Initiative Award
During the Australasian Housing Institute (AHI) state awards held on Thursday 7 September, Unity Housing was awarded the prestigious Tenant Led Initiative Award for ‘Our Community Cookbook’.
A highlight of the night was when our long-time tenant, Giselle, the driving force behind the brilliant concept of creating a community cookbook, took to the podium with Rebecca and Trish by her side. With immense pride, Giselle accepted the award on behalf of all the tenants who poured their passion (and recipes) into this project. Giselle’s heartfelt acceptance speech resonated with everyone in the room.
Though we reached for the stars and nominated two other remarkable initiatives, we extend our congratulations to Junction Australia for their victories in the Leading Community Engagement and Leading Development Initiative categories.
Unity Housing wishes to acknowledge the Department for Human Services (Office for Ageing Well) for their invaluable grant funding and the Australasian Housing Institute for providing us with this platform to showcase “Our Community Cookbook.”
“Our Community Cookbook” stands as a beacon of community spirit and culinary delight, offering a collection of cherished family recipes from our tenants that are not only simple and delicious but also nutritious. Each recipe carries with it a tenant’s unique story, forging connections within our vibrant community.
We invite everyone to partake in the joy of “Our Community Cookbook,” a gift to all, freely available for download.
