About the Role

We are currently seeking a Housing Officer to join our Regional Team on a permanent full-time basis. Reporting to the Team Leader – Regional, you will provide professional tenancy and property management services while supporting Unity’s vision for affordable housing and sustainable communities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing all aspects of tenancy and property management in line with legislation and program requirements.
  • Handling tenancy matters, including lease renewals, enquiries, tenancy debt, disputes, and complaints.
  • Conducting and following up on property inspections.
  • Maintaining tenancy records, updating databases, managing key registers, and attending SACAT as required.
  • Engaging with stakeholders to deliver a responsive and professional housing service.

Although this role is part of our Regional Team, it operates autonomously across the Mid North region. With access to a fleet car, you will manage a portfolio spanning this area, and occasional travel to Unity’s head office at Bowden will be required.

About You

You are an experienced property manager with at least two recent years in a similar role, confident in working independently across a broad geographical region. You are comfortable managing your own workload, staying organised, and meeting responsibilities with limited supervision. You work well independently while maintaining connection with a wider regional team. You are structured in your approach, able to build and maintain effective relationships with tenants and support services, and can manage the demands of a mobile role, including regular travel. This role offers a balance of autonomy and support, with regular team check-ins and a manager who provides guidance and resources as needed.
