About the Role

We are looking for a part-time Administration Officer (30.4 hours per week) to join our Admin Hub on a fixed-term basis until 27 June 2025. Reporting to the Housing Admin Hub Coordinator, you will play a key role in providing a responsive and professional tenancy and property management service by:

  • Handling enquiries and delivering exceptional, customer-focused support.
  • Assisting with housing coordination tasks
  • Overseeing Housing Administration emails, correspondence, key management, and document archiving.
  • Providing general admin support, including minute-taking, meeting preparation, and project assistance.

About You

You bring a strong foundation in administration, with at least three years of experience in roles such as EA, PA, or general administrative support, ideally within corporate or government settings. Your skills include intermediate-level Word and Excel, with high attention to detail, accuracy, and a fast-typing speed. Any experience with housing or tenancy is a bonus but not essential, as training will be provided. Familiarity with databases would also be advantageous. You possess effective written and verbal communication skills and are comfortable collaborating in a shared workload environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a team setting.

About the Role

We are currently seeking a Housing Officer to join our Social Housing Team on a permanent full-time basis. The primary purpose of the role is to provide responsive and professional tenancy and property management services by:

  • Managing tenancy and property tasks independently, following the Residential Tenancies Act and social housing guidelines.
  • Handling lease renewals, tenant inquiries, tenancy debts, and neighbourhood issues.
  • Conducting high-quality property inspections, including scheduling and follow-up as needed.
  • Maintaining tenancy records, updating database information, and attending SACAT when required.

About You

You are a dedicated property management professional with at least three years of experience, ideally in housing or social services. With a strong understanding of the Residential Tenancies Act and solid administrative skills, you are comfortable managing tenancy records, rent arrears, and inspections. Confident in handling challenging conversations with tenants, you are thorough, organised, and ask questions when needed. SACAT experience is a plus. A team player at heart, you work well with others, support colleagues, and are motivated by making a positive impact in the community. Hands-on and proactive, you consistently follow up on tasks, manage KPIs, and bring your best to every team meeting.

  1. Proven experience in the property management sector with current and practical understanding of the Residential Tenancies Act, SACAT and professional standards in the industry.
  2. High level of administration experience and advanced computer skills, including the use of data bases, web-based applications, and Microsoft Suite, ideally gained in a housing or real estate environment.
  3. Ability to work efficiently and independently to meet work targets and deadlines with minimal supervision and able to work in a collaborative and proactive manner with flexibility to support team and colleagues.
  4. Experience working with people with challenging behaviours and empathy for people with multiple and complex barriers to sustaining a successful tenancy.
  5. High level of interpersonal skills and ability to establish professional relationships with key agency stakeholders to facilitate collaborative effort for identified client needs and support.
  6. Knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety requirements that relate to working in the field with complex tenants.
