About the Role

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Coordinator to join our Assets Team on a permanent full-time basis. The primary purpose of the role is to lead the coordination of contractors, ensuring efficient delivery of both cyclical and responsive maintenance services across our housing portfolios. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing maintenance to ensure properties meet safety, quality, and legislative standards.
  • Handling maintenance work for vacancies and issues reported by tenants and staff.
  • Arranging and documenting property repairs, including insurance-related matters, and liaising with stakeholders.
  • Ensuring high standards of maintenance work and timely completion, with feedback from tenants and the Housing Team.
  • Planning and executing preventative and cyclic maintenance per the Asset Maintenance Plan.

This role will occasionally require participation in an on-call roster, with potential regional travel.

You are someone with a strong blend of technical expertise and project management skills, ideally with experience managing small to medium-sized projects in an asset or maintenance environment. You have a proven ability to make decisions that future-proof maintenance efforts and offer recommendations that lead to the best asset outcomes, supported by a solid understanding of building maintenance. Comfortable with financial responsibility, you align with Unity’s values, consistently demonstrating integrity and professionalism.   1. Experience working in building, construction and/or refurbishment. From a practical or project management perspective.
  2. Previous experience in conducting worksite compliance audits to ensure contractors are aware of their responsibilities to undertake duties in a safe manner.
  3. Commitment to a high level of professional and respectful customer service with both internal and external customers.
  4. Ability to autonomously manage maintenance activities to a high standard, meeting appropriate safety, quality and legislative requirements for the organisation.
  5. Experience in working within an Asset Management Plan to deliver preventative maintenance in a timely manner.
  6. Experience in meeting KPIs to achieve business outcomes.
