Unity Housing Company Ltd (Unity) is the largest single provider of low cost community housing in South Australia. We are a values-based organisation and specialise in the provision of housing and accommodation for people on low incomes, who are ageing, living with disability or experiencing homelessness in SA.

Unity are seeking the services of an experienced, team oriented, friendly and efficient Asset Management Support Officer to join Unity’s Assets Team. The role provides high level customer centred maintenance administration support to Unity’s Maintenance Coordinators.

Reporting to the Asset Manager the successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in the following areas:

  1. Ability to demonstrate a hands on approach with well-developed people skills dealing with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  2. Experience in coordinating and undertaking a range of administrative tasks.
  3. Proven ability to exercise initiative and judgement to make decisions and provide recommendations to the Assets Team.
  4. Knowledge and understanding of professional property management principles and expectations.
  5. Demonstrated skills in time management, setting priorities, and planning and organising own work.
  6. Proven ability to contribute and work well as part of a team.

The successful candidate will require a driver’s licence. While there will be access to company pool vehicles, full mileage reimbursement for business related trips using your own vehicle can be claimed.

Housing Officer / Property Manager (Part Time)

Unity Housing Company Ltd (Unity) is the largest single provider of low-cost community housing in South Australia. Whilst the core of our work is the provision of accommodation for people living with disabilities or experiencing homelessness or on low incomes, we are developing a diverse affordable housing property portfolio.

Unity is seeking an experienced Housing Officer to undertake a range of property management tasks, supporting a team of Housing Officers who are responsible for managing allocated mixed portfolios of properties, including disability properties. Reporting to the designated Team Leader, the position is currently based at our Brighton office.

This position would suit an experienced Housing Officer or Property Manager who is able to demonstrate their extensive hands-on experience in Property Management and passion in providing a highly responsive and professional tenancy and social housing management service across a varied portfolio with diligence and empathy. Your ability to further demonstrate high level interpersonal and communication skills to enable effective engagement of a diverse tenant group and stakeholders as required will be highly regarded.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following:

  1. Proven experience in the property management sector, with a practical understanding of the Residential Tenancies Act, SACAT and professional standards in the industry.
  2. Proven experience working with support agencies and co-managing clients resulting in successful tenancies and stakeholder working relationships.
  3. High level of administration experience and advanced computer skills, including the use of databases, web-based applications and Microsoft Suite, ideally gained in a housing or real estate environment.
  4. Ability to work efficiently, accurately and independently to meet work targets and deadlines with minimal supervision.
  5. Experience and knowledge of working with people living with challenging behaviours and empathy for people with multiple and complex barriers to sustaining a successful tenancy.
  6. Knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety requirements that relate to working in the field with complex clients.

The successful candidate will be required to submit a current driver’s licence and will have access to company pool vehicles to undertake the requirements of the role. In addition, a satisfactory current police and DHS Working with Children Check are a requirement for employment with Unity.
