About Unity Housing

Unity Housing’s focus is to help build a sustainable housing system that provides a range of options for people who are facing housing affordability pressures, and to make a positive contribution to the communities which we are a part of. We strive to ensure housing is sustainable in the long term for the individual, the environment and the community.

Our corporate video captures our passion for providing affordable, safe and secure homes for South Australians on low incomes. We interviewed our tenants William, Kelly and Susan and asked them to share their experiences as Unity Housing tenants (created and produced by Hughes PR).

Who we are and what we do

Formed in 2008 through the transfer of assets from a number of like-minded and highly respected South Australian housing organisations, Unity Housing was established as a direct response to housing affordability challenges. Unity Housing’s specific strategic goal was to create new housing opportunities for people otherwise unable to access the housing market.

To this day, we continue to provide quality property and tenancy management services to people who are vulnerable and have high needs – people experiencing homelessness, the elderly, people living with disability and those experiencing mental illness.

Through our management of more than 3,000 properties, we provide people with access to a wide range of housing options, including community, affordable, transitional, disability housing and boarding house accommodation.

Many of our tenants require tenancy and social support to sustain their occupancy, and live in a diverse range of property types. We understand housing must be tailored to the needs of the individual, so we offer a broad spectrum of housing, ranging from accommodation for people with disabilities who need high levels of support, to people who simply need the right housing in the right place for the right price.

Unity Housing harnesses community, government, private and not-for-profit resources to develop innovative housing solutions. Our properties are located in the Adelaide metro and Hills, Fleurieu Peninsula, Murraylands, Eyre Peninsula, Mid North and South East.

Our housing model aims to:
• Increase housing supply with the assistance of a multitude of partners including developers, financiers and support agencies
• Deliver flexible housing services that are responsive to diverse tenant needs
• Encourage and foster positive outcomes for tenants and the community including social inclusion and community engagement
