Unity’s Boarding House Program provides a home each night to 117 of the most marginalised and disadvantaged people in the community.  We offer accommodation at four locations in the CBD for vulnerable individuals who need affordable housing options and can live independently. The Terrace is staffed 24/7 with the three other sites managed in an outreach capacity.

About the Role

We are currently seeking a Tenant Services Officer to join our Boarding House Team on a casual basis. The primary purpose of the role is to:

  • Provide professional and positive community relationships, including exceptional customer service to tenants, community members, and service providers.
  • Assist tenants to establish and maintain secure tenancies.
  • Undertake cleaning duties as required.
  • Perform reception duties, such as answering the door, responding to telephone calls, and record-keeping.
  • Ensure a safe and clean residential environment for tenants, support workers and other visitors to the sites.
  • Assist with the management of Rooming House requirements including room inspections.
  • Assisting the Team Leader with the selection and allocation of new tenants as well as preparing vacant rooms for the next tenant to maximise boarding house occupancy rates in line with organisational Key Performance Indicators.

This role is classified under the Hospitality Industry (General) Award 2010, as Guest Service Grade 3, with wages including penalty rates for applicable shifts. Standard shifts are 8 hours, starting at 7am, 3pm, or 11pm. Additional shifts may be available to cover staff absences or during busy periods.
