About the Role
We are seeking a suitably experienced person to join new Specialist Disability Housing Program team on a fixed term basis to cover a periods of parental leave until July 2027. The role titled Specialist Disability Coordinator works closely with internal teams and disability sector stakeholders to manage housing allocations to both Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) and Non-SDA dwellings, guide tenant onboarding, provide expert advice on SDA and NDIS requirements, and support the growth of the Specialist Disability Housing Program. Key responsibilities include:
- Advising on SDA Housing and NDIS requirements
- Managing accommodation vacancies, advertising, and tenant allocations
- Supporting tenant onboarding and maintaining accurate records
- Guiding staff on disability housing and SDA matters
- Building relationships with Support Coordinators, Supported Independent Living Providers and other stakeholders
- Assist with monitoring compliance and documentation standards
Some regional travel may be required.
About You
You are an organised, proactive professional with experience working in the NDIS sector and a passion for improving outcomes for people with disability. Ideally, you have worked in Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA), Supported Independent Living (SIL), support coordination or a similar role.
You communicate confidently with a range of stakeholders, work well independently, and are comfortable making decisions in a dynamic environment. You enjoy learning, can interpret policies and legislation, and take ownership of your work to deliver positive outcomes for tenants and partners.

- Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying NDIS legislation, SDA Rules and regulatory requirements to support effective service delivery and operational outcomes.
- Proven experience working in the NDIS, SDA, SIL, disability services, support coordination or specialist housing sector, with an understanding of complex participant needs.
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with tenants, families, Support Coordinators, SIL providers, the NDIA and internal stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience managing compliance requirements, identifying risks and implementing quality improvements.
- Demonstrated ability to provide expert advice, share knowledge and support staff capability in complex disability housing matters.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse information, identify improvement opportunities and contribute to the development of innovative disability housing services.
