National Rent Affordability Scheme ( NRAS ) Registration of Interest for Developers
Unity has a strategic commitment to the continuing growth of its housing stock a cross a number of portfolio areas.
In conjunction with its partners in State, Local and Commonwealth Government, private sector builders, property developers and financiers and the non government sector, Unity currently has over $34m of property development on its books. Much of this development is underpinned by the National Rental Affordability Scheme (NRAS), through which Unity has secured significant rental subsidies. The bulk of the property developed will be held as long term affordable rental accommodation by Unity but a proportion will be sold down after 10 years to realize a return on the capital investment. Unity is keen to build this property portfolio and is actively seeking new partners to work with in achieving such further growth.
Unity provides property and tenancy management services to over 840 units of long term affordable rental accommodation and has built substantial infrastructure and a skilled staff team which give it the capacity to deliver these services in a professional and cost effective manner. Unity is actively seeking new partners and consortiums where these skills can be applied to assist in the generation affordable housing outcomes for a range of income groups. NRAS offers the opportunity for the development of such housing at scale and Unity is keen to hear from investors, financiers and developers who wish to discuss these opportunities further.
