Affordable housing

Affordable housing provides rental homes to people on low to moderate incomes.

This type of rental housing is partly funded by the National Rental Affordability Scheme (NRAS) where rents are set at no more than 80 per cent of the property’s market value. An annual payment is provided to owners of properties rented under the scheme. In return properties must be rented to eligible tenants at a discount from the typical market rent for the property.
